Self-managed

Run the full Gitana platform in your own data center or private cloud, with a commercial license and support from the engineers who build it.

The complete platform, inside your infrastructure

Self-managed Gitana is delivered as signed container images with Kubernetes configuration and Helm charts. You keep full control of networking, data residency and operations; we provide the software, updates and expert support.

Licensing is annual and sized to your environments and scale. Your team can validate the deployment first with an evaluation license, arranged through sales.

What's included

  • Signed containers for the API and UI
  • Clustered API and UI, with API workers to scale out
  • Single sign-on, multi-factor authentication and custom access policies
  • Audit logs and enterprise reports

Frequently asked questions

Is self-managed the same product as hosted?

Yes, with complete feature parity. Git-like content versioning, the push delivery pipeline, audit logs, approval workflows, single sign-on and field-level access control are all identical. There is no hosted-only feature tier: self-managed uses the same container images as the hosted platform.

How is self-managed pricing structured?

Each deployment is scoped on your cluster size, user count and support requirements. We’ll give you a fixed number on the first call, with no per-module fees and no usage-based surprises. Contact sales.

What infrastructure do I need?

Kubernetes (any cloud or on-premises), MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and object storage (Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage or Google Cloud Storage). Helm charts and deployment guides are included, and we walk through sizing on the scoping call.

Does the publish pipeline work the same way?

Yes. The delta publishing pipeline, with simultaneous push to every configured endpoint, checksum verification at each destination and instant rollback, runs identically. Throughput is limited only by the resources you allocate to your cluster, not by any cap we impose.

What does consultative support mean in practice?

Direct access to the Gitana engineering team, typically through a shared Slack channel, for architecture questions, sizing guidance and production incident support. Response times and included hours are agreed in your contract.

Is there a trial or proof of concept?

Yes. We can provide a time-limited hosted environment while your team evaluates the platform, or an evaluation license for your own cluster, before you commit to a self-managed deployment. Contact sales to arrange it.

What happens to my license if Gitana is acquired?

Self-managed licenses are commercial contracts with defined terms, so they don’t end on a company event. Gitana has been independent and self-funded since 2010 with no acquisition plans, and your contract protects you regardless.

See Gitana with your own content

Bring one of your own content types. A solutions engineer will model it, branch it and deliver it with you, hosted in our cloud or running in yours. The same call covers architecture, security, deployment and procurement questions.
